The federal government says seniors remain a top priority and to that end local groups are being encouraged to apply for funding for any community-based projects that are led or inspired by seniors.

MP Anthony Rota says, “there’s a lot of funding out there with the new Horizons for Seniors Program. It’s up to a maximum of $25,000 and it gives seniors and seniors organizations a chance to make life for seniors a lot easier.”

It all involves projects that look to empower seniors to share their knowledge, skills and experience with others.

The application deadline is July 29th.

Rota says if groups are applying, let his office know so they can assist in the process.
