Suspected fake patches lead to a real fraud charge

City police have charged a 53 year old North Bay woman with one count of fraud under $5,000.

This after an investigation into a report of the return of 10 suspected counterfeit Fentanyl patches to a local pharmacy on December 31st.

The suspected counterfeit patches have been seized by police.

Under the Patch-4-Patch program, patients with legitimate Fentanyl patch prescriptions must return their used patches to the pharmacist before they are able to renew their prescription.
