Not much improvement with impaired charges during OPP Festive RIDE campaign

During the annual Festive RIDE campaign there were 23 license suspensions and 51 impaired related charges in the Northeast Region.

OPP Sargent Carolle Dionne says these numbers aren’t much better than last year’s figures when there were 31 license suspensions with 58 impaired charges.

Dionne says the numbers are too high and they want to see significant improvements throughout the year.

She says they will continue to promote the message that if you have been drinking you should find an alternative method of getting home.

The Festive RIDE campaign ran from November 23rd to January 2nd.
