Local Labour Council doesn't want city to pay for KPMG report

There are better ways to spend $100,000 says Henri Giroux.

He is the President of the North Bay and District Labour Council and he is talking about the city’s plan to do a core services assessment by hiring KPMG for the mentioned cost.

Giroux says KPMG’s mandate is to find savings by reducing services and North Bay is already pretty lean when it comes to their spending on services. Giroux says the study would be a waste of tax payer money.

Giroux says Timmins has already completed one of these core services assessments and published the report online.

He says Timmins operates similarly to North Bay and they should take the recommendations from that report and utilize it locally.

He adds “if the city has $100,000 to spend than why not spend it on a splash pad for the kids?“
