Two additional charges have been laid against a Huntsville motorist in connection with a fatal motor vehicle collision on the Highway 11/17 bypass at Seymour Street in North Bay.

It occurred last November.

28 year old Edward Fitzgerald has now been charged with operating a motor vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol causing death and criminal negligence causing death.

He was originally charged with impaired driving causing death, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, failing to comply with a probation order and assault with the intent to resist arrest.

North Bay OPP are investigating a road rage incident Friday afternoon on Algonquin Avenue.

It’s alleged a passenger from one vehicle punched another vehicle while stopped causing damage to the complainants vehicle.

Police say this happened around 3 pm at Airport Road and Algonquin Avenue.

The suspect is described as a while male, in his early 20’s, 5’9″ and having a scruffy beard.

The vehicle the passenger was in is a 2006-2008 black Mazda 6.

All’s well that ends well for two people. They were lost in the snow last night on Lake Nipissing in the West Nipissing area.

The pair used their ATV and a tarp for shelter and waited for police to rescue them.

Police say they used the GPS and co-ordinates from the call to locate the couple and they returned home safely.

The detachment commander says always check the conditions before heading out and have a gps with you.

He says the couple did the right thing by staying put and waiting for police.

A 33 year old Machar Township male is facing a possession of cannabis count.

The charge was laid after police were called to a family dispute on Eagle Lake Road last Friday morning.

Police say while on site they located close to 700 grams of cannabis resin.

Almaguin Highlands OPP say a 35 year old male suffered serious but non life threatening injuries when the motorized snow vehicle he was operating hit a rock.

Police say the collision occurred near Kearney last Saturday.

Police say the operator was attempting to pass another vehicle when the collision occurred.
