The Health Fitness Aquatic Supervisor at the North Bay YMCA is Brenda Chaput and she says they see a lot of people who want to go to the gym more often in the New Year.

Chaput says that’s a great choice – but if you want to stick to that plan, don’t try to do too much to soon.

She says go to the gym in moderation; keep your gym gear in your car so if you have a free afternoon you’re already prepared to go.

Chaput says there are also people who want to try a fitness class but only go once.

She says a good tip is to try a class three times before you make up your mind and go with a buddy who will keep you motivated.
