Flu activity so far this season being called sporadic

Sporadic. 

That’s the Flu Watch Activity level currently listed in the North Bay Parry Sound district.   

At last check there are 8 lab-confirmed cases in the district. 

Six are Influenza-A, 

One is Influenza-B and another is a co-infection of both influenza A and B. 

Officials point out the numbers represent only a portion of the actual number of cases happening within the district. 

They say many people who have the flu don’t seek medical attention or don’t get tested. 

In all of last season, from September 2014 to August 2015 there were 202 cases of influeza.  That was down slightly from the 213 cases the season before.
