City Hall (some snow) It’s been a good couple of months for the city’s winter maintenance budget.

With little snow to clear the city hasn’t been spending as much money as expected on winter maintenance.

Infact, the Chair of Engineering and Works Tanya Vrebosch says they are looking at an estimated 200 Thousand Dollar surplus.

She says that’s good news considering the amount of snow they had in the last year and as a result they only had Two Thousand Dollars left in the budget and that’s after after going into the reserves to the tune of 600 Thousand Dollars.

As for where the surplus will go.

Vrebosch says that’s up to council.

Vrebosch says the weather is unpredictable so it’s important to have money to spend in case you need it.
