NBRHC exterior shot Hospital 3The holiday hustle and bustle means it’s busy time for pretty much everyone, including the Emergency Department at the hospital.

Officials at the North Bay Regional Health Centre are expecting an increase in visits with the holidays here.

Factors include flu season and the fact many physician offices and walk-in clinics have reduced hours.

They say in an emergency don’t hestitate, go to Emerg.

But they also say with a bit of planning, pressure on the Emergency Department can be reduced.

That includes checking prescriptions and getting renewals before your physician’s office or pharmacy closes.

Another tip is being familiar with available non-urgent care like Telehealth Ontario or walk-in clinic availability.
