Two factors impacting season for travel agencies

The warm weather for this time of year is impacting the travel industry.

So says Chris Mayne of Mayne Travel.

He says that little bit of incentive to get away because it is so cold just isn’t here yet. 

Mayne says another factor is the low Canadian Dollar. 

He says people aren’t travelling to the US because of the high exchange rate now estimated at a dollar 40. 

Mayne says other locations are getting more interest outside the United States like Cuba and the  Dominican Republic where it is less expensive than the United States. 

Mayne says people are still travelling and the business could pick up with colder weather in the New Year.

He says outside of March Break the Christmas season is the busiest travel week of the year.
