Council approves major repairs for Veterans Field

North Bay City Council has approved a $500,000 design and reconstruction of the Veterans Field facility.

Councillor Derek Shogren says the field will become the premier baseball location in North Bay.

He says the project includes many facets.

“Everything from the field to the fencing to the pitchers mounds, the stands. The nice thing about this is both of these organizations The North Bay Minior Baseball Association and The North Bay Senior Men’s Baseball League have pitched in $37,500 towards it,” he says.

Shogren says there’s an added benefit for the city.

“Not only it will support the groups that use it during the regular season. But also the city will be able to host tournaments featuring out of town teams that we’ve never been able to in the past,” he says.
