The Rick Mercer Report is back in North Bay again tomorrow night (Tuesday).

Comedian Rick Mercer recently filmed a segment where he learns to fly a helicopter at Canadore College.

“We sometimes use them to shoot from and sometimes we need them to get to remote locations, and I’ve always had a bit of a fascination with them,” he says. “I’ve always thought it would be great to actually know how to fly one. “

Mercer says the Canadore program is quite intensive.

“It’s one of the best in the country, by far. So I went up, got the stick and we went flying helicopters for a day, it was a huge thrill, it was literally one of those thrill of a lifetime experiences and now I know I’ll never be a helicopter pilot,” he says.

The episode airs on CBC at 8 pm.

It’s the second last show before Mercer wraps up his 15 year run of RMR with an hour-long look-back special on Tuesday, April 10.

A segment filmed with the Nipissing Trackers was on last week’s show.
