Record rainfall and flood outlook issued for the area

The Conservation Authority has issued a flood outlook for the North Bay-Mattawa watershed, pointing out this is NOT a flood watch or warning.

The statement was issued because of the heavy amount of precipitation has increased stream flows and water levels.

They say ground conditions are saturated meaning rainfall will become direct runoff, causing a risk of flooding. T

he airport collected 31.1 mm of rain Monday, according to Environment Canada.

That breaks a 40 year old rainfall record and 20 year old precipitation mark.
