It’s taken pretty much all summer for the Council summer schedule to be reworked… and it’s still a work in progress.

A Council committee will now be looking into the summer Council schedule.

A councillor motion was brought forward Monday night to move the committee meetings to 6:30 pm, followed immediately by the regular Council meeting or at 7:30 pm, whichever comes first.

But, Councillor George Marossis said switching those meetings around would make more sense to him, “So that the public who wants to make a presentation knows that they come at 6:30, it’s the priority meeting, you have the regular meeting of Council. When the council meeting is over in the summer time, then you have the committee meeting.”

He brought forward the amendment, which passed, to have the General Government committee sort it all out.

With there only being one double-meeting left this summer, the revised schedule would’ve taken effect next summer.
