City Councillor joins Summer In The Park committee

There’s a new council presence on the Summer in the Park Committee.

Councillor Jeff Serran is stepping so Chair of Community Services Mark King will step back to take on a different committee.

Serran says once he gets caught up to speed on this year’s festival he would like to bring some ideas forward, including annoucing acts for 2017 before Christmas.

He says “how we do that? I’m not really sure yet, but I think it’s a very important thing to do because I think it will help promote ticket sales.

Some of the successful groups who do summer festivals in other communities, they announce at least one act before Christmas.”
