A rebranding is underway at the Discovery North Bay Museum.

Director/Curator Naomi Rupke says they’re seeking public input and have created an online survey.

We want to get the community’s input about how they see Discovery North Bay Museum, what they see our role as in the community and collect any suggestions they have for the museum,” she says.

Rupke says back in the early 2000’s they moved to the former CP Station at Oak and Ferguson and changed the exhibits at that time, too.

“They’re all very interactive, but less artifacts and less emphasis on the traditional museum. So we’re looking at going back to the more traditional museum role, but keeping that exciting,
interactive element,”
Rupke says.

The name of the museum is the focus of one of the survey questions, too.

Rupke says once they’re done the process they’re going to add exterior signage too.

“We’re aware that is something we’re lacking in, having a strong physical signage outside to direct visitors into the museum,” she says.

The community square outside the museum is also available for groups to partner with the museum or rent the space.

“Over the past few years we’ve been having more and more events happening here,” she says.

The North Bay Cruisers are one group using the space for their weekly ‘cruise night’.

“That wasn’t just a one-time event, that’s happening every Tuesday night thoughout the summer,” Rupke says.

The club’s website says an average night brings in upwards of 120 cars.

The North Bay Cruisers bills itself as the car club for everyone, including classics, hotrods, imports, tuners, supercars and more.
