The Association of Municipalities of Ontario held their annual conference this past week, with a few area politicians appointed or elected as board members.

East Ferris Mayor Bill Vrebosch was elected to the AMO Rural Caucus while North Bay Councillor Mac Bain was acclaimed to the Northern Caucus.

Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities President Al Spacek was also appointed to the Northern Caucus.

All three will help set policy for the association.

Key advocacy priorities for AMO include fiscal sustainability for municipalities, advancing infrastructure partnerships and strengthening municipal legislative authority to advance economic prosperity and environmental sustainability.
